A book about sound. I used visual language throughout the book to communicate different aspects of sound, such as quietness, loudness, rich, grating, etc... To achieve the visual texture I wanted I utilized two main visual motifs. The main motif came from Cymatics, the study of visible sound and vibrations. The other motif was an exercise where I gave a group of photographer friends a sound word, and had them go interpret it any way they wanted. The results became a cacophony of words and images that build a rich visual world around the amazing phenomena of sound.
